Ludus Playbook is a student-built educational project. The site is designed to collect the minimum data required to support a research paper on whether the site teaches visitors something measurable about gambling. Beyond that, your activity is your own.
What we collect
We collect anonymous responses to two surveys: the SORTES Quiz (12 scenario questions plus an optional demographic intake) and the five-question knowledge battery taken before and after the quiz. We also log which archetype results are shared and which workshop sessions are RSVP’d.
The data is tagged with an anonymous session ID— a random UUID generated in your browser when you start the quiz. The UUID lives only in browser memory; when you close the tab, it’s gone. No cookies. No localStorage. No sessionStorage. No fingerprinting.
We do not log IP addresses on the API routes that accept research data.
Email addresses
We collect email only when you opt in — for the optional 3-month follow-up survey, the workshop RSVP confirmation, the contact form, or the newsletter. Email lives in a separate sheet tab from the research data and is never linked back to your anonymous session ID.
Where the data lives
Form submissions are forwarded to a private Google Sheet via a Google Apps Script webhook. The Sheet is shared only with Loden Chung and his capstone advisor. It is not used for any commercial purpose.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics, configured cookieless. No Google Analytics. No Meta Pixel. No third-party trackers.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your data. Ever.
- We don’t share your data with any third party except as required by law.
- We don’t link anonymous research data to any personally identifying information.
- We don’t use cookies of any kind.
Removing your data
Because the research data is anonymous and not tied to identity, we can’t locate or remove a specific person’s submissions. If you opted in with an email and later want it deleted, contact us via the contact form and we’ll remove it from the email list.
Children
The site is built for ages 15–22. If you are under 13, please do not submit any data.
